Abidjan, August 14th, 2015 - A strategic alliance has been concluded between JUMIA Côte d’Ivoire and Intex Technologies. The Indian company chose the e-commerce leader to sell its products in Côte d’Ivoire. This alliance provides the brand with access to the growing Ivorian telephony market and reinforces JUMIA’s supply in a very competitive segment.
The two companies have worked quietly for several months to achieve this historic agreement. The exclusive partnership, official since Tuesday, August 11th, 2015, allows JUMIA to become the authorized dealer of Intex smartphones in Côte d’Ivoire. By this move, Intex intends to quickly benefit from the experience gained by the e-retailer, to settle in a market that records excellent performance (97.5% of penetration rate of mobile telephony) but also increasing competition. JUMIA Côte d’Ivoire will provide the Indian manufacturer with more than 500,000 potential customers, an integrated promotional, commercial and logistics platformand the capital asset of a very good knowledge of the local market.
Intex is ranked by IDC (International Data Corporation) as the second best Indian smartphone brand. With two lines, Aqua and Cloud, the brand offers high-performance smartphones, at very affordable prices. The company benefits from state of the art Centers for Research and Development in India and China which are well-equipped with modern equipment and headed by highly qualified and experienced teams looking after product design & development. These facilities ensure products are offered in line with latest global standards.
A few hours after the signing of the agreement, the first flagship smartphone of the brand was listed on www.jumia.ci. The Intex Aqua Y2 Ultra is available on JUMIA at the competitive price of 39,500 FCFA. The Intex Aqua Y2 Ultra testifies with elegance of the savoir-faire of the brand.
